ABOUT IELTS |
| What is IELTS |
IELTS stands for International English Language Testing System and can be taken in over 100 different countries in the world.It is primarily designed to assess the proficiency of a candidate in English language which is the most accepted medium of education.
The duration of the exam is of 2 hours and 45 minutes and consists of four sub-tests in the skills of listening,reading,writing and speaking.
IELTS has two modules available-the Academic Module and the General Training ModuleThe results of the Academic Module may be used to determine a candidate’s suitability for study at undergraduate level.The General Training Module is of use for candidates seeking to continue there studies at diploma level only.The General Training Module is also used for immigration purposes to Australia and New Zealand, and for students willing to complete their secondary education in an English-speaking country.
IELTS tests only the English language skills of an individual.It is a paper based test and is held from time to time in all countries.To take the test on a specific date the candidate must make a prior registration. IELTS reports the scores of an individual on a 9 band scale and the results are send by post .A candidate can take as many IELTS tests as he wishes,but with a gap of 3 months between attempts.

| What are different sections of IELTS ? |
There are four sections in an IELTS.They are-
a)THE LISTNING SUB-TEST(30 minutes)-The section has 40 questions in total divided into 4 sections.The tape is played only once and each section is preceded by instructions.
b)THE READING SUB-TEST(60 minutes)-The section has 40 questions divided into three 3 sections.The passages in total are around 1500-2500 words and preceded by instructions.
c)THE WRITING SUB-TEST(60 minutes)-The section has two writing tasks.The first task takes approximately 20 minutes and the test taker is expected to write a minimum of 150 words.The second takes approximately 40 minutes and the test taker is expected to write a minimum of 250 words.
d)THE SPEAKING SUB-TEST(11-14 minutes)- The sub-test consists of an interview with an examiner and is recorded on a tape recorder.Most of the questions on the speaking test are scripted;they come from a bank of questions prepared by test authorities.

| IELTS 20 - (CORRECTIVE) |
| The IELTS 20 is a 20 hour program that is designed to be of use to candidates who have higher level of confidence in their reading and speaking abilities. Program focuses more on writing and listening skills as well as relevant tips regarding other sections are provided regularly to bolster the performance. It also aims at correcting the weak areas by providing tricks and tips. |

| IELTS 10 - (FAST TRACK) |
| The IELTS 10 is a 10 hour program that caters to the requirements of candidates who are confident of there command over English language and would like to maximize there performance by having a description of IELTS test, its modules, tips of filling OMR sheets, in hall etiquette and some advanced experience of test implementation in simulated surroundings so that they are more relaxed and comfortable during the actual exam. |
