ABOUT NSAT |
What is NSAT
The New Scholastic Aptitude Test (NSAT) is the newer version of the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). The NSAT is given by College board to all test takers looking for an admission into Undergraduate Programs in various Universities across the world. What makes NSAT different from the earlier version of SAT is that it is a bit longer, a little harder, and a lot different. The total duration of the test is 3 hours 45 minutes. |
How is it different ?
A new writing component - Perhaps the biggest change incorporated, the writing section has two parts: a multiple-choice section (tests the test takers ability to identify sentence errors and to make improvements in sentences and paragraphs) and a written essay (tests only the writing ability).
Verbal section changed to Critical Reading Section - The earlier SAT had an analogy section, but the NSAT has short reading passages followed by multiple-choice question. However, the regular reading comprehension and sentence completion questions have been retained.
A tougher Mathematics section - The questions now featured on the test are of a higher difficulty level and require better command over the subject. The old quantitative comparison questions have been axed and there place has been taken up by multiple-choice and Grid-in questions (student produced response questions which have no answers mentioned).
Experimental questions - These questions appeared in the previous SAT and they do so even in the contemporary format. They do not count in the score and are given just to assess the response of students to these questions so that the questions can be given on later tests.

Has the scoring pattern changed ?
When so many changes have been made then it is logical to tailor the scoring pattern according to the changes so that there is an agreement with them. The new-scaled scores are on a scale of 200-800, so the composite scores are on a scale of 600-2400, instead of 400-1600 on the old SAT.

COURSES THAT WE OFFER
NSAT (COMPREHENSIVE)
The NSAT comprehensive program is designed to cater to the needs of candidates who are new to the test and have very little knowledge about the various aspects of the test. It aims at molding the candidate according to the specific requirements of the NSAT, which is a test very different from other aptitude tests. Moreover the recent changes made in the test format makes it very different from the earlier version One of the major tools at hand with the test taker is to be very NSAT centric, and this is the most important technique to master the test and get a good score on the NSAT. The program formulators have in depth knowledge about the NSAT and the recent changes incorporated and hence are at a very good position to direct the candidate according to the specific requirements of the new format of the test from a very basic level. The program includes –
CLASSROOM TEACHING
The classroom teaching aims at bolstering the basics of the test taker in the fields of mathematics and English. Experience with the earlier SAT has shown that a very dependable way to be successful at the SAT is to inculcate strong basics in the various sections of SAT. The regular classroom training along with handy tips during the classes ensure that the test taker is fully prepared according to the new requirements of the NSAT
SIMULATED NSAT TESTS
A person enrolling in the comprehensive program virtually takes 15 to 25 NSAT tests before the actual NSAT. This allows the candidate to be comfortable during the test and also with the new format. The simulated tests are based on the new trend of the test and hence are reliable indicators of the actual test performance. In addition to the above 8 to 10 computer based tests are also available.
NSAT (SIMULATIVE)
The NSAT simulative test is designed for test takers who are fully confident of their preparation for the NSAT and need only virtual tests to enhance their performance. The program formulators assume that the candidate has fully tailored himself according to the specific requirements of NSAT and the new requirements brought into picture by the changed format, hence no classroom teaching is provided. The tests given to the test takers are the most advanced and up to date in the area of testing and are good indicators of the test performance. In addition to the above 8 to 10 computer based tests are also available.
